I had opportunity to mess around with an OG PSVR set after my film this evening. Didn't own one back in the day, but there was a very good offer on through CEX earlier this week and I decided to take the plunge.

I expect I'll only be able to play for 15-20 minute sessions due to motion sickness, but starting with Astro Bot Rescue Mission was a wise choice. An absolute delight.

I played a couple of games on Sony's new VR system last night. I have not played a lot of VR games and this was a friend's system so, full disclaimer, I'm a gamer, but not a VR gamer.

Gran Turismo looked good and the immersion was OK but nothing special.

However, the next game, Horizon - Call of the Mountain, blew me away! The combo of graphical fidelity and haptic feedback was incredible and I could really see VR's potential.

Much like the climbing sections in Tomb Raider or the Uncharted games, the game constrains you to marked sections but stretching out with one arm to grab a distant ledge, while dangling high above a raging river feels risky.

The bow and arrow works well, requiring you to hold it to your eye and really stretch your arms apart to shoot at distant targets.

I finished the session with a 3D jigsaw on Puzzling Places. This worked pretty well once I wrapped my mind around the mechanics and I could see someone like my wife, who loves real-world jigsaws, enjoying this.

Anyway, there's no chance I'm going to spend $900 on a PS5 and $900 on PS VR2 to play this but I'm glad I've got a friend who has 😃

Has anyone else tried the VR2? Am I just easily impressed by VR?

I played Wanderer in VR this weekend. Really cool story puzzle game about time travel. I wish I was playing it on a better headset because the controls were annoying at times.
