So: Just got reviews back on a #psycholinguistics paper, in which R1 said I got the lit wrong but the stats were great, R2 said it was terrific, and R3 said the #rstats were all wrong and needed to be completely redone.

HOWEVER, because R3 is a *good* R3 and not a bad R3, (and because I uploaded my data to OSF) he also seems to have DOWNLOADED MY DATA AND REDONE ALL THE STATS FOR ME.

WHAT IS THIS AMAZING WORLD OF GENUINE COLLEGIALITY?

For the love of all that's small and furry, can we please ban all further numerical x numerical interactions in gamms? If I have to puzzle over one more of those god-awful heat maps I'm going to scream.

MEDIAN SPLITS EXIST FOR A REASON! Usually not a terribly good reason, but I'LL MAKE AN EXCEPTION FOR GAMMS!!

Me: Oh, cool, there's a UK-specific version of the part-of-speech tagged subtlex corpus. I can get frequencies for my pan/panda, ham/hamster study, and be confident that they reflect usage frequencies in my local dialect of English for the specific usage of the stimuli in question!

SUBTLEX-UK: 'pan' is not a noun in the UK.

There's a special issue that is highly relevant to my work on the surface but which I'm struggling a lot to figure out -- stuff about how language models (#LLMs) and #psycholinguistics can mutually inform each other yadda yadda

I swear, I've been submitting articles to journals for almost 10 years now and I still have no idea what to write in the cover letter. Like, what can I say that the editors won't get from just skimming the abstract and looking at the contact info associated with my profile in the submisison system?

WE SHOULD BE PAST THE NEED FOR COVER LETTERS, DAMMIT! THIS IS THE FUTURE!
