Why have I never seen anyone talk about the idea of a #HalfLife #ttrpg mini campaign?

PCs are random scientists, security guards, and technicians in Black Mesa when the place shakes and power goes out. Get out of the place and survive.

For an 8 to 12 hour campaign, making a complete #ptba hack would be overkill, but surely there must be plenty of suitable systems already.

Thursday was #Kult. One of the best sessions I ever had with a #PenAndPaper #TTRPG in 30 years of DMing. Two players only, and two PCs that underwent such character development that many novels would blush. The transformation of the characters because of the events in the fiction we collaboratively create was truly impressive. This is what true immersion and player involvement looks like. Hats off to #PtbA. Thank you @lumpley and Meguey Baker for creating this empowering framework!

As if Magpie Games knew I was frustrated with #Hasbro. This will be my first #ptba game.

I want to play a #PtbA game set in the Russian Civil War, about the Czechoslovak Legion that fought for the Czar for their independence from Austria, trying to escape the Red Army and return home by comandeering the Transsiberian Railway to get on ships on the Pacific Coast, accompanied by a trail of refugees.

There's been many famous retreats through hostile territory in history, but this is by far the craziest.

I am about halfway through my first read of Dungeon World. Also: I am not actually familiar with PbtA games*. It feels like the various D&D/AD&D games I played in the pre-2e days transposed into … something … else.

See if I can finally get the first draft of the how I see #ptba working post written for https://www.fandomlife.net . I know what I want to see, I even have a diagram for how it works but I've just not produced anything I am happy with yet.

Just watched Adam Koebels Office Hours #92. Up until 23:42 he talks about the issue of fictional positioning. Very interesting, especially the part about fiction first vs. mechanics first - both valid approaches.

So fellow GMs what's your take on this?

In my ODnD game I like to encourage fiction first as much as possible: tell me, what you want to do, and we figure out a die roll. But apparently, that's not always easy.

Question for #Masks or #PTBA GMs
Starting first long campaign, and the arc I was starting off with has ended up tying into one character.
Should I prep a comic arc for the other characters, or would focusing on their hooks?
Most of the characters are on board, specially since we're starting out, but one friend is seeming to have trouble with interest in her character.
