fell on pterosaur tuesday
I ought to have something to say
about the Mesozoic
and the pterosaurs of that age
how they flew and how they fell
and how,
on anoxic bottom, they lay
as sediments buried them
for another day
millions of years away
yet my words fall flat
flat as the pterosaurs
so often sadly are
when found in our own age

I am in a toothy phase… close up of Rhamphorhynchus.
Some pterosaurs, like Rhamphorhynchus, were VERY toothy and likely did not have a lot of extraoral tissue

I haven't drawn anything new on ages, for whatever reason I felt inspired to knock out this rough first draft of Pterodactyls antiquus strolling past a pair of giant periwinkles (Leviathania gigantea). This scene is on an Tithonian intertidal flat on the North shore of Tethys on what is now Europe. #pterosaurtuesday
