Mit #PublicCode for #PublicMoney hat das nichts zu tun und unsere Abhängigkeit von wenigen IT-Hyperscalern wächst weiter

@legumancer oof. That article meanders _a lot_. It could reasonably be summarised as "author struggles to separate the inefficacy of Stallman/the FSF from the radical politics of #FreeSoftware and the effective advocacy carried by others".

The author is right on one matter, quoting: 'It is time to admit that all the tropes and rhetoric and conspiracy theories of the so-called free software movement are an impediment to making any actual progress on making positive **political** change with regards to software.' Aside from the many problems of the FSF, one of its biggest failings is that it failed to advocate for political change. Its messaging has always been ineffective right-libertarian posturing on an individual's rights with Free Software. _You_ will be free if _you_ use Free Software, and it is a moral failure on _your_ part if you do not use Free Software.

But the failures of the FSF do not mean that we should throw the whole thing out. On the contrary, the author is right that we should take our advocacy into the political realm. The @fsfe _already_ does this with its #PublicCode campaign, and many other campaigns, past and present.

The stance here is that Free Software should be legally mandated (under certain conditions, yada yada).
