NPR quitting Twitter is almost making me wish I still worked in #publicmedia. I was always arguing for the importance of owning our own platforms, but the shininess of Twitter, Facebook, and "following the digital natives" was too appealing to the people who decided our budgets. If I was there now I'd be pushing hard for building #activitypub and #fediverse integration into our publishing systems.
