I don't even know how to describe the genre. DJ guy occasionally sings plaintively over dark #Trip Hop and spooky beats. Eerie dreamy #electronic music with overlaps with #darkwave and #shoegaze. I loved the three previous albums so I am hyped for this drop. The best haunting music to zone out to.

Dan Little's discussion of Till Hilmar's book Deserved struck a chord with me, given that one of Hilmar's emphases is on interviews in the former GDR (where I lived during much of my time in Germany in the 1990s).
Little isolates two primary contributions to "Ossi" social dislocation. One is the feeling that success in capitalism is due to relationships rather than merit. The other is the erosion of trust in social institutions.

Finally made it to the Peace and Justice Memorial yesterday.

One small takeaway, the small knots of people, two or three together, engaged in deep conversation throughout the site.

Was a privilege to go through with folks with expertise in museums, public memory, and history. Learned to see a lot I would otherwise have missed.
