Either way, it's unusual to find Mithras represented amongst the much more common Greek gods and Christian imagery on a Glasgow Building.

The Attendants by Heisenberg. Installed in 2002 on new flats in on Malta Terrace and Caledonia Road in the Gorbals in Glasgow, this is one of a series of similar figures, one above each of the close entrances in the block.

Memorial to John Stewart who founded the City of Glasgow Friendly Society in 1862. It's aim was to 'enable members of the industrial classes to arrange with one another for mutual aid during sickness or on the arrival of old age'. This sculpture, on the city's Douglas Street, is by William Kellock Brown.

One of the nine 'Tontine Faces' in Saint Nicholas Garden at the Provand's Lordship in Glasgow.
These 18th Century sculptures were originally created for the old Glasgow Town Hall on Trongate and some date from as early as the 1730s.

Situated on the former Buchanan Institute for Destitute Children on Greenhead Street in Bridgeton, Glasgow.
The sculptor, William Brodie, was also responsible for one of Scotland's most famous statues, that of GreyFriars Bobby on the George IV Bridge in Edinburgh.

#Today I saw a #sculpture of the head of Professor Erinma Bell MBE by Karen Lyons, made from recycled handguns. Professor Bell is a #PeaceActivist and campaigner against gun crime in the #MossSide area of #Manchester. She is the first woman to have a sculpture of herself in #ManchesterTownHall.
