All of my earliest memories are of being scared and ashamed-- except for my memories of Sesame Street, Mr Rogers Neighborhood, and The Electric Company. Maria from Sesame Street and the puppets from The Neighborhood of Make Believe were kind and gentle and never ever made me feel scared or ashamed.
To this day, PBS holds a place very near and dear in my heart.
