Question for #gongfucha practitioners: going to be moving soon and will need a place to store tea* and teaware**. Any suggestions for what kind of cabinet or table or shelf or etc. I should get?

*Tea consists mainly of puer in mylar (heated storage is in a cooler, but I have a spot for that) but also assorted bags of yancha and white tea.

**Teaware is about a half dozen gaiwans, 4 or 5 teapots, and about a dozen and a half cups. Not outrageous (I don't think!)

Está calor, 33ºC/91°F, a hora de chá frio. Esta noite temos o Juicy Journo da MeiLeaf, Da Shu Bulang PuErh de primavera de 2021. É um chá interessante com um carácter, não gostei muito dele quando preparado no estilo habitual, mas quando preparado desta forma, este chá é fantástico! Um aroma suave a cereja e um pouco de acidez de uva verde, acompanhado por madeira e eucalipto no fundo. Energizante e refrescante, como o vinho rosé.

A nice comforting cup of puerh for a rainy morning. I like to drink with the weather, so today I'm having a geosmin heavy, Hong Kong traditionally stored, raw puerh from Yeeon Tea.

This "truly f-ing ridiculous" shu #puer is so good, I should have bought 2 of these. I hope it gets made again!

What makes it truly f-ing ridiculous? It's a high quality shu puer with aged mandarin peel, stuffed inside a piece of fragrant bamboo and roasted. It's super thick and complex and a great winter tea.

Some #puer #tea (especially sheng puer) leaves a strong honey/floral aroma in the empty cup that isn't detectible in the tea itself. I have a hunch that the compound responsible is phenylacetic acid (or maybe phenylacetaldehde?). We definitely find it in raw puer, but I don't think anyone knows if it's responsible for the empty cup fragrance or why it's mostly raw puer that does this. Definitely some tea / #chemistry / sensory magic going on.

The #tbr pile behind has shrunk somewhat from yesterday. I finished book two in #gailcarriger's #SanAndreasShifters series around 2am (hello occasional insomnia) and now have begun book three, The Enforcer Enigma.

I rarely find werewolves interesting, presumably some Twilight related aversion, but I'll read anything Gail writes.

Today I read #TheSumageSolution by #gailcarriger.

A charming read as all her books are. But at first I was concerned that I was going to be a little disappointed. Not because of the quality of the writing, but without the quirky Victorian steampunk setting, I found myself wondering what the point of the story was. Not that any book needs a 'point', of course. So there's probably a better way to phrase what I was thinking, but I'm not sure what.

Then I hit page 273. And I didn't wonder any more.

Perhaps I was really questioning how this book was going to speak to me, personally. And I found it here. In the way he asks the question, in a completely natural manner. In the way she is happy to be a woman 'only with a cock'. It's not about how she is presenting, or what genitalia she was born with, but just what is.

I go forward now to the other books in the series with anticipation. I look forward to seeing how the societal upheaval she introduced into her Victorian past has grown into 'our' time.

(I was also amused by the fact the main character drinks #puer #tea and everyone else thinks it's awful.)
