Endemic in this context means perpetual high risk. We have no reliable mechanism of tolerance for SARS nucleocapsid like antigen. Even if the host develops a set of antibodies capable of denaturing it, it will still inflict C3/C5 convertase driven injury in microenvironments where those ABs and Negative Regulators of Complement are unavailable. Expect lots of #PulmonaryFibrosis, early onset #Alzheimers, and 20-somethings w/organs that look 80 years old from endemicity.

Working on a talk and thought I'd try to visualize the global burden of #pulmonaryfibrosis. The closest data set I found was for interstitial lung disease and sarcoidosis. Interesting variability in disease burden around the globe. More work to be done to #CureIPF.

This was my first #rspatial effort in #rstats and it was a strong reminder early R days of just typing in every R command I found on Google until I got what I wanted. Definitely more to learn here!

@hedwyg I feel the same. I’m still on Facebook because #PulmonaryFibrosis patients are there and so are their families and friends, and we have to keep communicating with them. And during the dark days of #COVID19 it turned out really important.
