15. My favourite *recent* one-shot’s probably “Cliff Canyon and the Dangernauts vs the Spider Queen of Mars” for #CallOfCthulhu, which sees actors in a Flash Gordon-style pastiche investigate their co-star’s disappearance. It plays up #PulpCthulhu’s pulpiness nicely, and generously tips its hat to pulp sci-fi.

Going back further, though, I’ve run John Tynes’ “In Media Res” (also #CoC, albeit an older edition) a bunch of times, and it’s always come off well.

In tonight's #BlackLancers, the heroes took the roles of the French elite, witnessing the launch of the first manned balloon flight in November 1783. Soon they discovered that the balloon launch was used as a distraction, and that foul play was afoot…

This intermission scenario is a two-parter based on the "Reign of Terror" setting by @Chaosium, and provides clues for the WW2 campaign in the form of an historical adventure instead of a handout.

In last night's #BlackLancers, our heroes entered 🇫🇷 in April ’40, and practiced with old FT 17 tanks in a training camp. After Germany’s invasion of 🇳🇱&🇧🇪 on 10 May, the Polish forces were suddenly asked to join the fight, and brought to Paris for rearmament.

In Paris, our heroes went to the Bibliothèque Nationale to research the missing artefact. However, they ran into a familiar face, chased her, were put to sleep, and ended up in a magical garden with fair maidens.

In last night's #BlackLancers session, we wrapped up the one-shot set during the 614 siege of Jerusalem. The Persian heroes found the three relics they were looking for, after vanquishing a fanatic Christian cult known as the Sisters of the Seven Seals, and the many-headed Beast that they summoned in the caverns beneath Jerusalem.

When visiting the monolith, they witnessed a ghostly vision of a ritual bloodily interrupted by knights. The heroes then vanquished a black living ooze and found the artefact they were looking for! As usual, I put a lot of consideration into my character's attributes...

...only to find out that attributes I prioritised applied mostly (only?) to identify the total of % to distribute between skills.

I found that out when I was told we used the "quick creation" rules. In those, skill % are pre-established making by main attributes worthless. 🙄

Working out how muscles and tendons could be splayed and attached to the workings of a submachine gun is a fun challenge!

Last night, the Black Lancers linked up with their brigade, captured a TKS-D tankette, kicked out Gebirgsjäger Regiment 98 out of the Zboiska Heights, only to be ordered to retreat to Hungary as the Soviet Union invaded Poland. Au départ, un petit article... Et maintenant ça devient un dossier un peu plus complet sur Anna May Wong... Des personnages autour d'elle, des personnages inspirées d'elle.
