For 30+ years ran the original here in . Collectors visited us annually. Now, we've essentially run out of & the evolved has moved to PA. I miss the books & their fans.

are fragile & difficult to find in any condition. Perhaps we let some go too easily...

Our shop was new in the heyday of 1940s . My grandfather was a detective story author under the name Hal Murray Bonnett.

Our friends @thepulpnet are new on Mastodon, but have been active for years on the bird site, insta, and their own website – thepulp.net/ – keeping the love of pulps alive.

If you like (the paper format, not necessarily the film), give them a follow!

Coincidentally, a guest asked if we had "Weird Tales" pulps yesterday! Serendipity!

Loring Brent's The City of Stolen Lives collects three of his Peter the Brazen Far East adventure tales originally published in the pulp Argosy in 1918. Fast-paced, action-packed and with sinister villains. Solid pulp adventure.

🧵3/2 And one more. From 1936's "Loot of the McKeekee": "She had an arm up her sleeve that could fell a boatswain, a tongue that had flung such hard words as to knock out her own teeth."

NEW MAGNET LIBRARY No. 860 (Street & Smith, 1922)

"Knaves In High Places; Or, Nick Carter's Subtle Foe" by Nicholas Carter.

Not sure what's happening here: is she menacing him or taunting him? What's that in her hands -- iPod earbuds? Giblets? Love beads? Answers on a postcard...

The Bat Staffel, first of Robert J. Hogan's G-8 and his Battle Aces novels, written during the 1930s.

The hero is American aviator and spy G-8. There’s plenty of air combat, some mild science fiction elements and hints of the occult and the supernatural. The bats and their poison bat breath are a nicely sinister touch.

Pulp fun.

Lester Del Rey’s 1952 sci-fi novella Pursuit is all about fear.

Wilbur doesn't remember the past seven months of his life. All he knows is that someone is out to get him. Someone with a heat ray.

Del Rey makes us wait until very near the end before giving us the big reveal, and it's pretty satisfying.

A nifty little tale, tightly constructed, fast-moving with genuine existential terror.

Atoms and Evil is a collection of short stories by Robert Bloch. The stories were originally published in various pulps between 1948 and 1960.

In these stories he turns his hand to sci-fi and the paranormal.

Bloch’s morbid sense of humour shines through. Atoms and Evil is recommended if you like your science fiction offbeat.

The Sapphire Goddess collects all of Nictzin Dyalhis’s stories that appeared in Weird Tales from 1925 to 1940.

His best stories are stories of love and revenge, erotically charged and with just a dash of the decadence of Clark Ashton Smith.

Very much worth reading.

Henry Kuttner's Crypt-City of the Deathless One, a sci-fi novella published in Planet Stories in 1943.

A lost world story, with killer plants and zombies, a deadly plague and a man haunted by his past.

Clever and exciting. Hugely enjoyable.
