F.L. Wallace’s scifi novel Address: Centauri (1955). In the future everyone is physically perfect, except the Accidentals who are very imperfect but long-lived making them ideal for deep space exploration. Deals obliquely with posthumanism.

If These Be Gods is a 1957 sci-fi novella by Algis Budrys. An airliner encounters a UFO. An alien invasion story with some twists and with aliens who might be friendly or malevolent. Interesting for the varied reactions of the humans. Not bad.

Heinlein’s “The Puppet Masters” is sexist and juvenile like most pulp in that time. But I’ll finish it soon.
Will read some 60s New Wave next to clean my pallet.
