How do you combine emoticons and punctuation?
For example: at the end of a sentence, where using a smile emoticon, would you also use a full stop or use the emoticon to replace the full stop?
Not looking for right or wrong, just common practice. Feel free to discuss in replies, if you wish.

The most annoying thing about this, is that obviously it’s a misused apostrophe to indicate a plural (aka the grocer’s apostrophe), but you can’t prove it isn’t a perfectly respectable replacement for the missing letter in a newly-coined contraction…

Instead, pair "from" with a second preposition, like "to" or "through":
✅ We lived in Alaska from 1996 to 1998.
Or skip the prepositions altogether:
✅ We spent 1996–1998 in Alaska.

A comma is like a steep incline; to not cause harm, you'd slow your speed to make sure the car doesn't go flying or crash.
A period is like a red traffic light. You'd need to stop your car at a complete standstill and pull the handbrakes. Then the light turns green, you accelerate.
A semicolon is like a speed bump; you're gonna need to be _way_ slower than going up the incline, but not to the point of stopping.

This was an interesting tidbit from NBC. Zoomers are changing the way they use - and don't use - periods. I think the kids are pretty smart in this case. They're adapting.
