For context, my friend and I were once patted down for weapons at the door, we were carrying weapons, because Trenton at night was very dangerous at the time, as was City Gardens. Our weapons were found in the pat down, and we were ushered inside, fully armed.

Today is the 46th anniversary of Joe Strummer and Don Letts going to Hammersmith Palais to see Dillinger, Delroy Wilson, Ken Boothe and Leroy Smart. The experience was chronicled in the Clash song “White Man in Hammersmith Palais.”
I recently saw the wonderful documentary “Rebel Dread” about Don Letts, which is worth seeking out.
