A pickup truck full of pejibaye, one of Costa Rica’s must-try Ingredients for sale.

The fruits are harvested in large clusters and then boiled for several hours to cook them completely. Then the skins are peeled away and the large seed inside is removed.

Many Ticos enjoy them on their own with a dollop of sour cream or mayonnaise. I can't stand them personally...

When CR started issuing them, they literally started around ZERO so 2980 is a VERY early plate number

I literally lived no more than 400 feet from the beach in Playa Jacó Costa Rica from May 1st 2013 to May 1st 2017

Almost every day, weather permitting I walked to the end of my street to catch each day's sunset

THIS sunset on March 2nd 2014, taken at 5:45pm local time was one of very few sunsets I would call 'PERFECT'

Halfway between my cabina in Playa Jacó Costa Rica & the beach was a local Soda named Isaga. It was great for a home cooked meal, to watch the San José soccer teams play or just hang out & people watch.

Also the local mariachi's were real good!

10 years ago today, May 1st 2013. I left 'the city', Santa Ana just west of San José & moved to 'the beach'

This was the view at the end of my street. I lived 400 feet from the beach with no tv, cable or wifi in Playa Jacó a Costa Rica surf town for 4 years until May 1st 2017. When I returned to the states.
