@miketorr hi! Thanks! Never heard of midinous, will check it out! I did not write anything theoretical about asymmetric rhythms, but I will! My most beloved composers are Respighi and Stravinsky, so the rhythms come from this latter!

I like the elegance of simple sequencers powered by lists in #puredata but I don’t like building/editing/tweaking lists as part of refining a sequence. I guess it’s just a shift in thinking

Revisited some older music software I made in #puredata and #unity3d. I swore it'd be the last time I'd use Unity. We'll see.

I can feel my brain getting back in to #synth mode. Articles and posts keep catching my eye. I want to do some #music thing. 18yo was asking how to make a cymbal sound using white noise and #adsr + filters.

One thing stopping me before was that the house always had people in it. 3/6 of us are leaving for school in weeks.

I'm thinking either #bitwig #daw or #puredata. Or both!

(#electronics bench is calling to me too, but my ignorance slows me down too much)

I once read a paper on sythesising cricket sounds using fm and am synthesis just for a live generated background effect in a game that no one played. #puredata #unity3d

@celesteh I think one of the reference is still Spore (2008) which uses #puredata to generate algorithmically the sounds and music of the game (in which Brian Eno has participated )
it's not on Linux but should work with wine ... (and maybe just videos are enough to present it? )

in another genre, I find the ambiances and sound design of SOMA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soma_(video_game) pretty effective in the work of immersion

Yeah, I understand your thinking prize wise, but for me it is important that people can find & listen to my music. I looked at other artists on #bandcamp & their caculation and my ratio is 1€ buys you 6 min of music, which I find fair if someone likes my stuff and wants to support me. You don't have to it will always be free to stream on bandcamp. Thanks for your input anyway!

For years I did want to learn Max/MSP but I did not have the courage.

I finally jumped after rewatching Sean Booth's AMA a few months ago and I'm having a great time ! This is the first part of the sequencer I want to cook to at some point perform and improvise with it.

Oh no I had the idea of building a programmable sample processor in #PureData and now I might actually do it.
