A few seconds of my #PushpaVeena before I start practicing this morning. I’m just beginning to learn raag Komal Rishabh Asavari. After I tune the instrument, I play the basic ascending and descending lines. The thaat Is Bhairavi, which is the same as Phrygian mode. But in the raag, the minor 3 and minor 7 are omitted when ascending.

The hide top of the veena gives it a wonderfully ancient timbre.
