Dinner & drinks done. #PyConDE/ #PyDataBerlin is over for me now.
Some busy 3 days. I’m very very exhausted, but also energized to do some important Rust & Python community work now and maybe play around with some Python packages now.
It’s been 3 full days already.
3 days packed with Python content, lots of interesting conversations and, at least for me, some things to follow up on.
👏👏👏 Thanks to the organizers, volunteers and speakers & coaches making this event possible! 👏👏👏
@maren now up on stage with „How to increase diversity in open source projects“
Already last round of talks here.
This is not the Rust you are looking for.
First talk for me in the downstairs rooms, this room is **packed**!
„Cloud Infrastructure From Python Code“ by Asher Sterkin & Etzik Bega.
I'll be speaking at 3:10 pm today at @pyconde about "How to increase diversity in open source communities" #Pyladies #PyConDE #PyDataBerlin #ethics #diversity #opensource

* of course she’s only gonna tell us how to do it. You still have to do the work yourself.
WHAT are you yield from?
What ARE you yield from?
What are YOU yield from?
Maxim tells us.
Great talk yesterday at the @pyconde 2023 conference by Marianne Stecklina @MStecklina about "Using transformers – a drama in 512 tokens". 👏 Recording will be online soon! #Pyladies #PyConDE #PyDataBerlin #nlp

3 coffees in and I still don’t feel human yet.
Monorepos for your Python project?
Abdeali Kothari with an overview and experience report.
They had me at Stroopwafels.
PyData Amsterdam is happening September 14-16 this year.
„Hacking Diversity“
A PyLadies panel about tech illusions & the Unbalanced Society.
Instead of directly interfacing across the boundary using ffi or pyO3 Christopher went for a simple hack: built a CLI and hand over data to process using pipes or arguments.
Side-steps the issue of dealing with Python internals or FFI.
Case study: use Rust to read JSON, convert to Arrow files, then use the extensive Python ecosystem to deal with the data.
Next Rust & Python talk.
The languages can complement each other.
But how? Christopher Prahm tells us.
