And so it happened, over the weekend it thawed and last night froze again, so premium "skull weather"* (FIN: pääkallokeli) in Hellsinki.
* Apparently the word "kallo"(skull) is derived from kalla/kallo, which refers to long lasting thick ice on the ground and also to smooth shore rocks. And maybe "kallio" (rock,) is related too?
Anyway, now the "thick ice weather" is understood as "skull and bones" weather, which is accurate too.
