Last year I bought a set of #Pyrex Ultimate glass storage containers. It turned out I hate the oven-proof silicone lids. The edges of the lids on the round bowls are soft enough that when they are heated, and then the bowl contents are allowed to cool a little, they get sucked down into bowl and jam. Maybe they work OK at sea level?
Today the Pyrex/Corningware site was having a buy one / get one half off sale, so I ordered some non-Ultimate lids for those sizes of bowls. Hope they fit.

Made a few tube in tubes today at Urbanglass. The outer tube heats the inner and then they both bend. Its tricky, and I am still practicing for sure. Borosilicate is a very different glass and the gas oxy carlisle torches are pretty different- but so nice and hot! I gotta try larger diameter inner and outer tubes next time.
Excited to dust coat some of these, and make a few more!

Yesterday, I found out that I can do this at Urbanglass for only $5 per hour. Yep- there is oxygen running through those torches and that is #borosilicate #glass. Available in super large sizes, those #pyrex tubes can be heated just like the neon crossfire with this setup- one quarter turn of the tube heats all sides.
Double the fire double the fun! Seen here are a 12mm tube and a 25mm tube bent just like with neon. So. Much. Heat!

@catvalente Not one of the better Pyrex patterns, and definitely one of the ones you can always find at flea markets. Not as pretty as the other popular patterns of harvest wheat and butterfly gold. Don't ask me how or why I have one of the mushroom pattern bowls on top of my pachinko machine, probably manifested just like yours.

I sold a bunch of my Pyrex collection over the last week or so and bought new-to-me 1980s-era #Docs. These are possibly the most comfortable boots I have ever owned (other than the 2000-era Miranda DMs).

This is the brooch to match the mixer - a matching stack of Vintage Pyrex bowl brooch from Erstwilder, called “Nanna’s Prized Flower Bowls.”

I don’t own any of these highly collectible Pyrex bowls, and I don’t think either of my Nanas every had any.

My Nana insisted the only bowl that worked for scone making was the big yellowish brown Mason Cash bowl!
