In microgravity, flames are spherical and able to burn with less fuel. They can also burn at a lower temperature. Regular (hot) fire burns at ~1700°C (3100°F), depending on fuel. "Cool flames" burn around 480°C (900°F) and are invisible. Understanding these could improve safety in and expand our understanding of combustion in general. It could even mean cleaner, more engine someday.

@Suzy_Harlington If I'm teaching you suck eggs let me know but after the fire is laid I always twist up a couple of sheets of news paper into a long tight roll, ignite it then put that up the chimeny to get heat & an updraft into the chimney; then as it dies down light the main fire. hope this helps.
