Simple solution to guns. Ban the production sale and possession of gun powder. It's an explosive and we already restrict explosives. Gun powder is often used to make pipe bombs, which oddly are not protected by the 2nd Amendment. Just a little tweak to the law and you will need a federal license to manufacture fireworks or explosives to legally be in possession of gun powder.
