I now have locally searchable copies of all my mastodon posts and replies on my iPhone via #python running in #Pythonista - which then saves them within an #Obsidian vault that backs up to iCloud

Every status is saved as "id.md" and self-contains a #markdown link to its own post as well as a html2text rendered copy of the post contents

Hashtags are discoverable by #Obsidian and it's all full text searchable

🧵 4/4 During lunch, I learned about #NorgesHistorie (link: https://www.norgeshistorie.no/), a web resource for the history of Norway – from the stone age to today –, incl. primary sources, texts, and many materials for teaching and dissemination of history in Norway.
In between all interactions, I played around with #Quarto (link: https://quarto.org/) for creating neat papers, websites and blogs, and gosh, am I impressed! Even as a #Pythonista 😏

My first attempt at writing #C in about 3 decades has resulted in "segmentation fault (core dump)". That's it--no other useful information. As a #pythonista I'd forgotten how good we had it with useful errors and stack traces! 😂

@vernon congrats! I'm a #pythonista but have tried twice to get started with #clojure. Each time I get stymied by the tooling. So dang complicated. And no, I don't want to use Emacs.

I'm a little nervous that compiling is going to be painful with my friend learning some of this stuff on a Windows PC. Plus, what if I'm not knowledgeable enough to solve any issues that come up. Please help #pythonista friends! 💚🐍🙏

The new #Pythonista beta has some new #Shortcuts actions that will be incredibly useful! I’m so glad @olemoritz@twitter.com is still active and working on improving the app.

One of my favourite apps is the earlier days of #iOS was Ole Zorn's Editorial.

He also made Pythonista, a fully-featured Python interpreter and IDE for the #iPhone, and I think the first app of its kind in the App Store.

The current version of #Pythonista is 5 years old, but it's being resurrected with support for #Python 3 and #Shortcuts! I'm pretty excited.

@aconaway Was thinking about the same, however:

a) Search on my particular instance works quite well. Tested it a bit and it is far more than a simple hashtag search, as everyone tend to think

b) No time. Albeit I'm a #pythonista, doing other #python stuff now... 😉
