Straciłem większą część dnia, ale udało mi się doprowadzić testy `dev-python/qiskit-*` do działania. A raczej — będą działać jak @thesamesam położy wisieńkę na torcie.
Najwięcej roboty było z ogarnięciem, dlaczego testy się sypią z dziwnymi błędami przy przetwarzaniu danych JSON. Co gorsze, nie mogłem tego problemu reprodukować z binarkami używanymi przez autorów. Okazało się, że nie dość, że używają wynalazkowej biblioteki JSON, to jeszcze przypinają do wersji z 2018 roku. Najwyraźniej pomniejsze wydanie 3.10.3/3.10.4 popsuło qiskit-aer.

Pozostała część pracy to:
- aktualizacja do najnowszych wersji
- poprawienie testu wersji numpy, który sypał się przez obecność literki "b" w wersjach beta (https://github.com/Qiskit/qiskit/pull/10723, https://github.com/qiskit-community/qiskit-algorithms/pull/70)
- wycięcie magicznego `-Werror`, które `qiskit-terra` wymuszała na `qiskit-aer`, i która wyrzucała błędy przy wołaniu przestarzałych metod numpy
- ogarnięcie dziwnego połączenia repozytoriów (`qiskit-terra` stało się `qiskit`, tyle że paczka na PyPI to wciąż `qiskit-terra`, tagi i wydania wciąż używają wersji `qiskit-terra`)
- aktualizacja listy niedziałających testów

When I published this article, I gave my boys' ages at the time: 7 and 5. I double-checked the date of the photo, and my youngest was, in fact, only 4 when he ran his first quantum circuit. Big Sis was 10 when she did it, but she used both #OpenQASM and #Python (#Qiskit).

I have now lost quantum computer virginity. I made a tiny little very simple "program" (?) that is supposed I think entangle two qubits using a Hadamard and a CX gate. Then all gets measured. Then I ran it on a ibmq_qasm_simulator and once I was somewhat assured my code will not accidentally destroy a real quantum computer. Still disbelieving my eyes I slowly picked ibmq_belem, mostly because I kinda liked the qubit map. 1024 shots please. Click. Now. This was a little slower. I had to wait a little bit. Like an hour or two for the queue to pass. And yep sure enough I got back some results. 00000 got 505, and 00011 got 481. Now we ran 1024 shots but 481+ 505 is only 986. Where we did lose the 38 shots? Well we didn't we got two little "noise bebes" at the bottom: 20 and 18. 38+986 = 1024 so. Now there's also a log that gets a little under the surface and shows how our small code actually has to do some very messy things behind the scenes. Maybe later on that. #quantum #qiskit
