Any RFI / EMI specialists out there who have ideas how to cure this RF noise from a Samsung fridge / freezer in our house ? Sometimes it goes away for a while, but most of the time it's there on most parts of HF. I made 50% more QSOs in this week's #SST than the last one I joined. 3 vs 2.

It's telling that all 3 were HP (>100W) stations, <2000km away. My noise floor, even on my KK5JQ Loop on Ground, is just too high to hear much.

My next two steps, as I see them:
- build a DF antenna, try to track down the crunchy RF on 40m and notable broadband on 20m.
- Add a "QRM eliminator" (really a signal phaser) because I don't think I can completely fix the first one.

Urban #QRM is rough.

Oh dear a DOWM (drunk old white man) maliciously QRM'ing a net on a local 2m repeater tonight, repeatedly breaking in and going "What IS this?", grunting, moaning over other operators. Solution! I bought this remote control outlet for the garage door opener. :alex_grin: Now I can turn off the #QRM while operating.

Still S9 #QRM peak whether door is up or down, so solution at https://qrm.guru/finding-that-noise-source-garage-door-opener/ doesn't work. I don't have that brand of door, but thought I would check.

Eureka! Found a large portion of my 40m #QRM.

Ran up and down the stairs for 45 minutes today to determine that it's the

(drumroll)

east garage door opener!

With all circuits in the house on, unplugging this device drops the RFI from S9 peak to S3/4 peak on 40m.

It's ~4 ft from my feedline and probably within 8-10 ft of my outdoor antenna.

Notable things in the house that were _not_ the large part of RFI:
- many big LED bulbs, inc. dimmers
- many small LED bulbs
- several USB chargers

Today I hunted RF interference around the house.

I had Icom remote control software running on my laptop monitoring 40m band and I walked around the house flipping switches.

These two GU10 LED light bulbs caused majority (all?) 40m interference in my house.
