Quakers aren't allowing anti-trans orgs trying to hire their venues, refused permission to anti-trans entryists who tried to start a "GC Quakers" group, no longer stocking a book by a Quaker author because they are anti-trans on social media and they're actively blocking anti-trans people from their social media sites.

I had a talk with a #Quaker today. She acknowledged that even as same sex marriage was mostly recognised by the #Quakers in Ireland it would be the specific Monthly Meeting who would've the final decision and also acknowledged that not all Monthly Meetings are open to it but the couple could still seek a wedding in a different Monthly Meeting.

I'm "only" an antendee of my meeting but stuff like that is holding me up to apply for official membership.

Amateur tip for #Quakers: at the end of meeting, noting that your guest book is "over by the donation box" will actually increase donations.

On a rare pandemic-era trip to the regional #Quakers office in Sandy Spring, Maryland, spotted a "Quaker Legacy Corridor" sign installed in late 2019.

A grand total of one find on the InterWebs (link below). (As noted in that find, the arrow points away from the historic meeting house; other Quaker institutions are near there.)

I'd've gone with "Quaker Influence Corridor," since reports of our death are greatly exaggerated.

Well-said. I've been an #atheist for decades, but recently found community with the #Quakers, who are mostly Christians but also welcome people from a mix of different religious traditions or lack thereof. (This level of tolerance does not apply to all Quakers worldwide, sadly, but the same is true of #Christians in general.)

Fun fact: Charles Hires (of Hires Root Beer fame) "...was a Republican and a devout Quaker..."
