#Crucible16 Part 2: Ryan Day got through as predicted (third right guess), but that one’s bittersweet because of Donaldson’s withdrawal. Pang Junxu also made it, as did Hossein Vafai in a fantastic match against Jackson Page.

Sadly I was also right that Zhou Yuelong will one again not come through. Didn’t see Slessor as his opponent, though, so no points for me there. Impressive performance by Slessor, he will be dangerous if he can repeat that at the Crucible. #qualifiers #snooker

Ah shoot. Hawkins didn’t make it to the #Crucible16. Didn’t think he’ll do, but I thought it would be Robbie Williams instead - who lost to Jak Jones, however.

And WOW, Noppon Saenkham just won a decider *on the black*. Got this one wrong as well, thought he’d be up against Xiao Guodong. But it’s always great when your guess goes wrong, but you’re still happy for the one who actually won. Saengkham will be a tough draw for any seed. #qualifiers #snooker

I wasn’t far of with Thepchaya Un-Nooh, who lost the decoder against Ricky Walden. What a shame that this match had to have a loser.

I was surprised that Anthony McGill wasn’t on my list of #qualifiers. But yeah, I thought he’d play Daniel Wells on Judgement Day, which … well, was totally wrong. Again. 😜

The first of the #Crucible16 are through the #qualifiers! I got Matt Selt right, and also guessed Fan Zhengyi correctly. Didn’t see Wu Yize coming, but he played hell of a session tonight. I got everything wrong on this route, thought it would be Michael White versus Tian Pengfei - both of them lost their respective match by a landslide 🙈

I obviously don’t know him, but judging from what one can see from him on and off the table, he’s a lovable character, with love for #snooker and sportsmanship in general. Impressive two frames by Mink. A 100 in frame 13 was her first century as a pro. Then she went on to steal frame 14 (albeit with unnecessary drama when she missed a thin cut on the final pink, just to pot a super long black shortly after). Aah, pure #qualifiers drama at Pagett-Gao. Gao with the chance to steal frame 13 (to win the mini-session 4-0), but miscues on the brown. Thumps at the cushion, gets warned by the ref. But then Pagett goes in off on the blue. Gao goes for the blue, misses narrowly, and - of course - leaves it over the pocket. Gao still leads 7-6, from 4-5 down after the first session. #snooker
