Inspired by #ThomasPynchon’s novel The Crying of Lot 49, I did some reading about Maxell’s Demon. I was intrigued by an argument by #IBM’s Charles Bennett and others from the perspective of information theory. I encountered the name again last night in a textbook about #QuantumComputation. It’s pretty cool that Bennett was a pioneer i quantum cryptography and proposed the first quantum key distribution protocol (BB84).

More frequently now reminders that there are many great researchers in Physics, CS and elsewhere that are not on social media, often despite intense pestering by students and colleagues. One of these is #ScottAaronson . Thankfully his blog site
