I wanted to write a short toot about how the #GrandfatherParadox could be resolved using ideas from #QuantumMechanics but I read that this point has already been made years ago and isn't at all an original idea.
Basically, I figured that you should be able to interfere with your own timeline without any problems. You can #TimeTravel back in time and prevent yourself from getting born is fine. It that doesn't affect "your own" timeline.

In quantum mechanics, we have states and observables. In the âHeisenberg pictureâ for quantum mechanics, we think of quantum states as being always the same; however, the observables evolve as time goes on, which enable the measurement results to also evolve with time. I think this is a very interesting metaphor for our human experience.

Itâs was inspired by the way the exuberant lines and shapes of Bauhaus paintings, like those of Wassily Kandinsky, reminded me Feynman diagrams showing particle reactions on the quantum scale, virtual particles and anti-particles popping out of the vacuum on borrowed mass-energy and of quantum foam.

Born #onthisday in 1892, Louis de Broglie was a French physicist and aristocrat who made groundbreaking contributions to quantum theory. In his 1924 PhD thesis, he postulated the wave nature of electrons and suggested that all matter has wave properties. This concept is known as the de Broglie hypothesis, an example of waveâparticle duality, and forms a central part of the theory of quantum mechanics.
In 1923 de Broglie came up with a novel idea to explain the theory of atomic structures which would put the formalism of quantum mechanics on a solid ground, by proposing and developing the concept of matter waves. This eventually lead Erwin Schrödinger to postulate the Schrödinger equation, an equation that provides a way to calculate the wave function of a system and how it changes dynamically in time.

popular enthusiasm for science is good but it's kind of weird how attached to particular interpretations of #quantummechanics people get without knowing the first thing about what QM predicts in mathematical terms, which imo is far more interesting. if you stay within #quantumcomputing the math isn't even hard, just some linear algebra you'll learn in the first week of an intro course!
