A paper about new research show a high-performance #SNSPD, based on a novel parallel design enabling fast, high-efficiency #PhotonNumberResolution (#PNR). This paper also demonstrates how the detector can be used to reconstruct the photon-number statistics of a light source. One of the first open courses we published was the introductory course on #QuantumOptics by Prof. Dr. Gerd Leuchs from the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light.
The course topics include #quantum descriptions of #optical elements, calculations with field operators, description of light fields in phase space, quantum evolutions and dynamics of interactions, and outlook towards applications.

Gosh, what a missed opportunity! Back when I was in the lab, some of my imperfect interferograms/interference fringes looked like hedgehogs. My lab book most certainly could have benefited from more animal descriptors!
