I was meant to be seeing a friend today, who I also planning on coming out to, but unfortunately they had to cancel due to their kid being unwell.

So I went on a walk to get out of the house anyway, and it's amazing I get to live in a city with a valley, a farm, and a quayside in the city centre.

Here's quite a brave thing to say. Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside is, IMHO, a triumph of city planning. What was once a post-industrial dump is now a key ( 😀 quay-gerrit??) part of the city centre. It'd be nice if there was more industrial history on display, but there's some farther up river.

It’s the hottest day of the year so far with temperatures peaking at about 23°C. It also sunny and so in direct sunlight it is even hotter.
