The scientific knowledge of both Ladies was great and up-to-date.

Not just playing with some toys.
The way Mishil used it, we have seen it happening again the last 4 years in Western countries that thought they got rid of that.
Queen Seon Duk was the Angela Merkel of her days in my opinion.

The Big Plan was all , the unification of the Peninsula. ,
Perhaps mistake , please correct if needed !

What I understand , in Joseon view:
"King" is the human reigning with Mandate of Heaven.
It is gender-free. Only after death of the King, name and gender is given, posthumous.
A marriage would tie "King" to one tribe, losing the Mandate to reign for the others. They went by that rule.
Yushin worked according to her plan long after her death.

Some sites you find with Google are good, some are tricky. Never had a virus, but some lot's of pop-ups.
But also possibilities for download.

In the Netherlands it is only Netflix as official channel for Korean/ Asian film.
But some countries in Europe have other channels.

There are more very good long dramas based on real history.

It is confusing.

British Queen Elizabeth , the "Virgin Queen" , also stayed single for the same reasons I think ?
Somebody who knows much better how that works, please explain 🙂.

If you're in for another longer drama, there is Empress Chun Chu , ruler of Goryeo in pre-Joseon Era.( 78 )

Not on many dramalists, probably because of the length, but pretty good !
She can not marry for the same reason.

I get lost too in the large complicated drama's.

Kim Yongchun was child of King JiJin and Princess Cheonmyeong's brother-in-law.
Bidam was Mishil's son.
( The role of So Hwa is not clear. She could have been also a sister instead of nanny according to some historicans )

By now I have watched Queen Seon Duk several times.
I love Korean historical dramas anyway.
But this is one of the most inspiring dramas to sort out what really happened.

She lay the groundworks for Korea, having to deal l with problems that feel very 21th century.
Fighting manipulation-with-superstition by the Lords and Lady Mishil , corruption etc.

Go Hyun-jung 's portrayal of Lady Mishil is epic though.
