I needed this four-day weekend, but that said, I can't wait to go back to work. I got a lot of things done at home, took time for self-care and all that, but I didn't realize till now just how much I snacked on whatever was within reach and without thinking about it. Like I'd idly stroll past a bag of chocolate chip rolls, and there goes my hand, reaching out automatically and snatching one off without me breaking a stride. Yikes.

You can tell I'm not used to having this much time off from work.

In addition to writing, I really have to pick up another hobby to keep myself from messing up my blood sugar levels. I still haven't gone to a craft store for some yarn so I can go back to crocheting, and I really hope to do that within my lifetime. I've got patterns gathering dust, and it'll be nice to work with yarn again.

As for the Smashwords e-book sale, I made off like a bandit with eight new books I snagged at excellent discounts. There are a couple of known authors whose books I've read before, but the rest are new writers. My e-reader app is happy.

Winding down the rest of the day just decompressing with a book and an episode or two of Queer Eye (slowly picking my way through seven seasons, yo).

I survived the earlier seasons of #QueerEye with the occasional waterworks, but the season they have in Austin, TX? I think the production team's trying to kill me.

I just watched the episode with the woman and her non-profit rescue farm, and I can't freaking stop crying. I was just like her throughout the episode, actually (poor woman was so overwhelmed, she was practically weeping non-stop from start to finish), but I'm now giving myself a massive headache as well.

And since they're so big on self-care, Imma gonna do it for myself now. Book time!

I watched the recent #QueerEye episode where they helped a woman who was incarcerated for 12 years. I cried from start to finish. Mostly because the woman they were helping seemed to be such a lovely person, but also because it hurt to see someone have to rebuild their life after having 12 years robbed by our justice system. I hope this episode radicalizes some people into being a #prisonabolitionist

Watching some #QueerEye for some body positivity. Having another "should I keep the Mohawk or let my hair grow again?" moment as I watch #JVN #JonathanVanNess work his magic.
