It made me happy to see friends eat as family at my place for #queersgiving tonight. We made too much food but it all tasted good and I'm glad that so many folk I know in the area were able to have a place to come to and be relaxed and fed.

I am thankful for queer resilience. I am thankful for a community that keeps thriving and surviving no matter what this country throws at them. I am thankful for a community that builds and rebuilds itself as it continuously adds in people who have been discarded by society.

Having a #queersgiving dinner tomorrow and I'm very excited about it, despite not being a big holiday person. A lot of our families are distant mentally and physically so it means a lot to have folk willing to come together to share dinner with me and help good space for a found family.

Every Thanksgiving for the last 4 years I've put together a meal and invited friends that I know have rough relationships with family. The faces that attend have changed each year, and sometimes it's only a +1.

The turkey is brining, the appetizers are prepped, the kitchen is cleaned and ready for an early start tomorrow.

I'm thankful to have the ability and opportunity to do this.

Cleaning up my dining room in preparation for tomorrow's #queersgiving and I found an old boy scout cap of mine. If I still fit in my old boy scout uniform, I'd probably wear it to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. :)

Best thing about doing a #GaysGiving or #QueersGiving or #FriendsGiving is that grocery stores still have everything you need the night before.

For a proper thanksgiving you have to have gotten your groceries from 4 different stores the week before
