The spreading branches of Southern Live Oak (Quercus virginiana) are covered with Spanish Moss (an epiphyte, Tillandsia usneoides) in the southern part of this beautiful #park.

Souvent confondus avec le chêne rouge (Quercus rubra).
Pour les distinguer on peut observer les #glands qui sont rayés chez le C. des marais, vs non rayés chez le C. rouge.
Arbres souvent plantés pour leurs chatoyantes couleurs automnales (patience, c'est pour bientôt), et également pour la production de bois d'oeuvre. Importé d'Amérique du nord il s'est naturalisé et se régénère naturellement.
