#JediSurvivor - #QuickGameReviews
Good game. Jedi: Fallen Order was more focused. Survivor went a bit Ubisoft with the padding gameplay with picking up tat off the ground, and I think the plot focus was a bit off target.
However, enjoyed the whole game. It was good and really did build on the previous game.
Now. I want a Merrin game that tells the story of what she was up to between FO and S.

Am I reviewing a decade old game? Yes.
Game, good.
Story, compelling.
Camera Angles, something that happen to other games.
If someone, somehow were to drop this game into the modern God Of War engine, that'd be great!

I have no way to clearly describe this.
Synthwave the Game.
The world was at the same time alive and empty. The lore, trickle fed through questions, hinted at something far deeper. The protagonist Lady Love Dies both playful and yet driven to uncover the truth no matter how well hidden.
I could go on but more would spoil the experience. I can just recommend for anyone who likes detective games.

Third play through, Jedi Knight difficulty. Replayed awaiting Survivor. Still love this game. One of my favourite Star Wars experiences, and some of the most satisfying lightsabre combat ever.
Waiting for the bollocks release of Survivor now to continue the story

Base game. Loved it. Loved Cordona, loved the cases, loved the back and forth between Sherry and Jon, loved the overarching story. Was let down a little by the combat, but for the most part that could either be skipped or had to be sought out.
Oh, and the costumes were great.
I've only played Crimes and Punishments, The Devil's Daughter and Chapter One, but this was by bar my favourite. Will be sad to return to London.

100% completion on Steam. Great game, and have to say that NG+ Ultra Hard was not as publishing as I expected. The worst part was there were several times I had to go Blaze hunting but apart from that ace game.
The fights did seem harder but were fair (Frozen Wilds still felt like bullet sponge: the game)
Bring on the PC release of Forbidden West!

Didn't like.
Gameplay was solid enough but the story and writing took a truly serious issue and boiled it down to "drunk mum is the real monster, dad who gave us a birthday present is the saviour"
Honestly I just think this topic is just too complex for a simple two hour game.

No way to sugar coat it, I think this game handled the main story point terribly.
An eerie game, where you solve puzzles as a toddler trying to find your mum in your house at night. Everything is scary and there is a monster in the house.
The monster is your mum. A divorced, single parent, and apparently alcoholic. You are saved at the end by your dad, represented by a white light.

A curious game.
Fuck all story, one of the menus has a constant error if I am in a strike team, the map sequence feels like #Vermintide2 Chaos Wastes without the charm.
And yet, I feel drawn to it to run through the same maps over and over completing contracts and penances, only to do it again then next night.
It's a fun evening in with my mates

Cute game, reminds me of the art style in Zelda BOTW. Definitely needs work, and the writing needs a good edit, but the basics are there and I would love to see the next stage.

Both very Thief, and also very much its own game. Just finished up to the Tavern and beyond, and am just loving it. Worth the price of admission, definitely

So just finished the main story in #SpiderManRemastered (on PC).
One criticism: the "Crime" tasks were far too many and too little variety. Many times the narrative focused on this idea that prisoners are all singly bad and therefore deserving of their fate of having some overpowered millennial punching them in the face.
Other than that, truly solid single player game. Great story, great character building, great controls, great visual accessibility features. 8/8 legs!

Absolutely brilliant story and built very well on Innocence. Let down by too many sections where the devs thought they needed combat when tighter stealth or cut scenes would have sufficed.
However, truly emotional experience with some lovely landscapes.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York
I am mixed on this offering.
The writing, artwork, sound design, all top notch. But the forced timeline means mission lines go wanting unless you play again.
Yes, it's kind of a trope to stave off "urgent" progression until you want to trigger it in most RPGs, but still. I will give it a rest before trying another path and other missions.
However, I definitely recommend

Stray
I loved Stray
Not the very very ending, but everything else, the exploration, the world, and the being a cat were all perfect.
But writers, you missed something!
Next will be Vampire The Masquerade: Coteries of New York

Call of the Sea
First the negative: A slight boost would have made a huge difference, and some parts did lean to cultural appropriation.
As a detective game, love story and island adventure though it was very well crafted.

Stray. Beautiful and emotional game. Exploration, knocking things off of other things, sleeping, rinse and repeat!
Near perfect game let down by one niggly little forgotten plot thread at the end.

Thief 2: The Metal Age - replay 2022
better than TTDP, far more human only missions, but ended somewhat weakly. Still some of the best stealth gaming I have ever played. "Shipping and Receiving", "Framed" and "Blackmail" are particularly strong and even for an old game I recommend.
Also, the Thief 1 and 2 HD Mods are amazing at bringing these games to life on modern computers.
A conceit I have... #QuickGameReviews
Starting fittingly enough with Thief: The Dark Project (Thief Gold)
Recently replayed, remains a great game with moments of brilliance. Thief excels where it remains true to its core - a human caught up in greater human affairs with a dash of the supernatural. Thief had too much of the latter, but some levels remain favourites even today, especially "Assassins" and "Life of the Party". Happily the stealth mechanics hold up with the absolute best even today.
