Finished the third and final quilt for my youngest sister’s kids. I think he will like it. The free stitch quilted simple vining leaf pattern went better than I thought it would through my little Brother sewing machine. The cat is kinda judgmental though. Not finished but coming on. My husband has the first quilt I ever made 20 years ago on his bed so decided I would make him a new one for Christmas. It takes me a while to come up with an idea but I’m pleased with this so far. Now thinking about borders on just the sides and bottom as it needs a bit more width. I need advice from #quilters. My brother got divorced last year and moved into his own place. I immediately said "ooh, I can make you a quilt" and he said no thanks. Now he's engaged and getting married in the spring. (He's known her for years & they started dating after the divorce, don't come for him.) And my third thought -- after "do they want me to be in the wedding" and "are my kids' romantic partners invited" -- was "I wonder if I should make them a quilt." Probably not, right? #quilting

It is my Quiltiversary! 4 years ago I took long service leave and went to a quilting class, a brand new and quite terrified student.
I eventually found the right teacher and never looked back.
Might have made more than 50 quilts since then, and always learning, always improving!

question for folks what do #quilting - if i wanted to get a quilt made with shirt panels, can that be made to work with a combination of hoodie backs and t-shirt fronts? or would that throw off the groove of the whole thing? (i'm ignoring that there would be a different feel to the different fabrics - just looking to see if it is a thing that can be done.)

A wedding quilt that I made my daughter 5 years ago. The finished top shown is not completed, I added an additional super wide border with a large dinner plate size scalloped edging.

The thing with babies quilts is that they often end up pink or blue or very pale colours. With this one I wanted to try something different. It’s been maturing in the top of the cupboard for a couple of years so I think it might be time to finally finish it.! Just a 6” border with more appliqué stars and spots to go. Not sure if the turquoise, orange and yellow really works yet. #quilts #quiltingmistakes #quilter #quilting #quilters

Once you put a person into a list, you do have to wait for their new posts before anything shows up in that list. I'm always searching for people using #quilters, for example. After about two weeks of doing this, my lists are the first thing I head to when I get Mastodon opened each morning.
