A little table runner to practice my quilt with stars on it, before cutting out a bigger project.

Test quilting block. Using my Accuquilt dies to make a star. This one will be part of a table runner but I reckon I have enough red fabric to make red stars in a quilt. Or purple.

Done. A small whole cloth quilt and a tiny quilt made from the scraps. Now to wash and then gift 🎁🎉

A while back, my mother gave us a quilt that someone gave her. It’s a classic scrappy four-patch. I don’t have a complete photo of it, but this should give you a sense.

Anyway, I’m firmly of the belief that quilts are almost always for using. So we’ve been using it, and it’s time to mend it.

So I was just thinking. #hexie #quilts are a thing and a lot of them are 1” which I think is a common measure for #hexmaps which made me wonder… has anyone ever sewn a hex map or used a quilt for one? #ttrpg

"Honeycomb Quilt," Elizabeth Van Horne Clarkson, 1830.

Why not a quilt? They're as much a work of art as anything else, and serve a practical purpose as well. Fiber and textile arts don't get enough love. This was made in 1830, probably as a wedding gift for Clarkson's son. I would be honored to have this on my bed!

In 2017 the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts displayed two of my works—"Last Days of Hollywood" and "The Force"—as part of an exhibit whose theme was "Hexagons." Most of the quilts on display were from their permanent collection, but they included mine as an example of modern takes on the theme.

The museum is housed in a large barn, reengineered to museum standards. I'm ever grateful to have had my work hang in such a gorgeous space, and in such good company. #Art #Quilts #Wisconsin

Learning how to make my first Dresden plate. Used some muslin as a test. I also wanted to experiment with coloring fabric with different mediums. This has some interesting possibilities. I finished binding my William Morris quilt last night. This one is “throw rug” sized - perfect for snuggling under on the sofa. It is hand quilted with a burgundy brocade backing. I love Morris fabrics so I’m so happy with this one ! 😍😍😍
The main fabric is “Best of Morris” from Moda and the backing is from Connecting Threads The pattern is called “Doubke sliced” from the Missouri Star Quilt Company.

Got a massive #quilting #fabric #stash from a #neighbor yesterday - on top was a remnant of #blue #paisley #cotton that matches the fabric I used for the first queen size quilt I made in 1989.

I pulled out the #quilt from my closet and realize I need to remake the binding and there are mysterious stains and lightening (it’s been on the highest shelf in a dark closet for years due to black cats)
