• Strong, dynamic typing
• Massive \(\texttt{Any}\) hole in the type system
• Declaration of instance attributes is their definitions in \((\texttt{__init__()}\)
• Repetitious \(\texttt{self}\) and kludgy \(\texttt{super().__init__()}\)
• Kludgy string-quotes to reference the class from within its definition
• Kludgy \(\texttt{TypeVar}\) definition
• Need explicitly to convert iterator to list using \(\texttt{list()}\)
• Usurping the \(\texttt{id()}\) name
• Kludgy \(\texttt{main()}\) invocation
• Disconcerting lack of type information in the holdover documentation from the P2 days

I got a new laptop when the "old" one pretended to break. The "new" keyboard will type "quotation marks" without me having to press a space key for them to show up and now I "can't" ("won't) stop myself from using them. #computers #quirks #keyboard #QuotationMarks

One of my #quirks is that I enjoy making up a comfortable bed for guests. Being a bit princess-and-the-pea myself, I want guests to have a restful night's sleep.

My copy of Covid-19 "A History" by Jacalyn Duffin just showed up in the mail. I am looking forward to reading this as it was featured on Quirks and Quarks.

Something #random about me … just one of my personal #quirks . I much prefer cutting my own hair, and seem to have a knack for it. It always feels cathartic, I never stuff up and always seem to hit the #OhYeah this is it mark. My hubby just went up to the local barber to get his hair trimmed, and he said I can always book in & have my hair cut (at the hairdressers not the barbers) I stopped what I was doing, looked at him and said “yeah, nah it’s a hard pass” I then explained I hate the experience of sitting in front of a mirror for an hour, while needing to endure small talk about “stuff” while trying desperately to always avert my own gaze in the mirror. I’ve only ever had 2 good hairdressing experiences, the rest are almost as memorable as dentist visits.
