I'm starting vacation, one day late, thanks to an unprofessional contract IT person.

Word of advice. Don't damage your brand and your future by not showing up for work and not responding to your client or your contracting firm (or your employer). We will respect your decision to quit, but your failure to resign and just ghosting us is unprofessional.
