It's sad that these stories sound all to familiar. I know several girls who were SA'd because they didn't know their own boundaries or what consent was.

And the whole birth control topic was completely off limits. Birth control, condoms, plan B, etc were not even an option for married couples unless medically reuqired. #QuiverFull

They can compare notes and see you are picking insane examples from all sides, so you won't be talking about, say, the people at their compound.

My wife retired from #SPED in 2008, well before the worst of this.

Up to then, almost every time #sexualabuse was discussed, they would get one or two disclosures.

Sexual abuse & #violence is a huge part of #ChristianWhiteSupremacy (#quiverfull, #Dominionist ,etc).

These are burgeoning movements, deeply entangled with #MAGA.

@Liveotherwise @orbifx In America we have a group called the Coalition for Responsible Home Education. It's made up of #homeschool alumni who advocate for children's rights to #education. Most of these young adults grew up in extremist Christian families, who subscribed to the #quiverfull philosophy that encourages severe physical discipline. Many of them have minimal ed skills. These are the children that we cannot ignore as we try to protect homeschooling rights.
