Solution 3

I totally forgot to solve this riddle!

The ancient Egyptians mainly used black ink to write their texts. Red, however, was additionally used to specifically mark certain words or passages in texts with so called "rubra". There are also very few exhibits where white ink was used. I am not aware of any specifically used green ink, however. ->

Round 3

Let us leave the courtroom for a moment and change topics. I am pretty sure you are aware that the ancient Egyptians used papyrus sheets as one material to write their texts on - basically paper, but made from fibres from the papyrus plant growing along the Nile.

For writing, they used ink. The interesting question might be, though - which of the following colours was NOT used for writing?

Time for the solution for the Round 2!

Though all participants were right anyway. So what happened? Seth joined a party at the palace and at some point offered a coffin. Whoever might fit best into that coffin would get it - for free! But when Osiris tried his chances, Seth's companions came by, nailed the coffin shut and threw it into the Nile. Problem solved!

Thus, my friends, be careful whenever someone tries to offer you a coffin at a party!

🇬🇧 - Round2

So now we have learned how... strangely the deities of Ancient Egypt could behave. But what was this trial about? It all started when Seth wanted to steal the throne of Egypt from his brother, King Osiris. Among other things, he used a ruse, a little party gag. How did Seth want to get rid of Osiris?

Solution time for Round 1!

So, what happened in the courtroom? The sun god Ra is lying on the floor, sulking, having sent all the other gods out. Then the goddess Hathor climbs over him and "shows him her sheath". Ra laughs - and is ready to move on. Men...

Though beer, wine and gold would also have been proper approaches to calm down an angry god!

Congratulations to everyone who guessed correctly!

So far 11 Germans and 7 Internationals have particiated in the - that's already more people than have interacted with me on Twitter over the last 4 years.

But I'm sure more of you have a wild guess on how sungod Ra was calmed down in court after throwing a temper tantrum?

And for those experts beneath you: don't worry, harder questions are about to come.
