🆕 After a long wait, #Quodlibet 4.6.0 is now (almost) out 🎉

Thanks to the many contributors (see https://quodlibet.readthedocs.io/en/latest/changelog.html#release-4-6-0), translators, and packagers.

I use #mpv for watching / listening to pretty much everything, but for creating music playlists, I haven't found anything that beats #QuodLibet. Create, export, listen with mpv.

Slightly unrelated: what is with spacebar NOT being the pause / unpause key for #YoutubeTV? Is there any other site or program where spacebar is not pause?

Eigentlich ist #quodlibet ja mein bisher bevorzugter Player, aber dass er einfach gänzlich ignoriert, welche Verzeichnisse ich ihm zum Durchsuchen freigebe, ärgert mich maßlos. Hab jetzt alle Verzeichnisse gelöscht und gesagt, er soll die Library neu builden. Das Ergebnis müsste sein, dass er 0 Lieder in der Playlist hat. Stattdessen hat er jetzt alle 7807 Audiofiles auf dem gesamten Rechner ausgewählt. Schön, hör ich mir halt den Linux Mint Startup Sound an…

Been enjoying #QuodLibet as my audio player / local music library for close to 3 years now.

It’s no frills, no fuss, rock solid stable!
Handles my large-ish library of god knows how many formats.
Never gets in the way of my listening.

@gnomeapps @nlogozzo I love it! 😍 Although I am not using it all too often since #quodlibet (my #music library #player and #manager of choice) comes with a very powerful internal tagging solution. Unfortunately it is nowhere near as beautiful though. ☺️

So many projects. 😅️ At the moment I have no time. But I still dream about #quodlibet getting a visual refresh. With #gtk4/#libadwaita, a more prominent display of the #artwork and on top of that a (for #nonnerds 🫣️😜️) more #accessible, #visual #search filter. Because QuodLibet is really amazing and I would love to see it reach more #musiclovers out there! 🤓️ #linuxaudio

@Harald Mittlerweile ist Linux richtig Nutzerfreundlich geworden.

Problematisch fand ich eher die Umstellung auf die Anwendungen, da musste ich vieles neu lernen.

#Digikam für die Fotos, #quodlibet für die Musik aber immerhin: #calibre für die Bücher konnte ich behalten.

Ärgerlich für mich als #WoMo- Fahrer: #Netflix & Co lassen kein offline-sehen von Filmen zu.

Ich habe gefühlte Ewigkeiten #Rhythmbox zum #Musik hören am #Desktop verwendet. Ganz früher war ich großer Fan von #foobar2000 als ich noch regelmäßig #Windows verwendet hab. Jetzt sitze ich zwar immer weniger an meinem privaten Rechner, aber da sind immer noch die besten Boxen angeschlossen. Letztens bin ich dann über #QuodLibet gestolpert und muss sagen: Mega Teil! Simples Interface das ich mir genau so einstellen kann wie ich es mag. Kann #Metadaten editieren und Wiedergabeliste ist optional.

Favourite #linux online radio stream apps? Atm mine is #goodvibes, with #radiotray-ng as fallback. Other nice ones installed: #cantata, #quodlibet. Mediocre ones installed: #clementine, #elisa, #strawberry, #vlc.

so "glad" that #quodlibet stopped using the "standard" media player place (?) in d-bus (org.mpris.MediaPlayer2) instead going under their own key. doesn't work with #ubuntu media controls (including keyboard playback control buttons) and breaks my nowplaying script too. yay.
