So, I was answering questions on #Quora and got an interesting one about #Roulette. Is it better to bet on Red or Black, or is it better to pick a single number.

And amazingly enough, the answer is picking a number.

Despite only winning 1/38 times, the higher payout means that you're less likely to lose money when you pick a number, with the caveat being that you lose more money when you do lose money.

Ran through a simulation of 1000 spins 40 times.

I didn’t remember that I had a Quora account until I received this email about an update to their terms of service and privacy policy.

I didn’t read these things, but this email indicates that they tell you how to “opt out of having your data used for LLM training”, so I just went ahead and deleted it. At least they make that easy.

You are correct about list comprehension loading everything into memory. But it seems that they are faster due to not using the same append methods.

Most of the questions look like AI rehashes of Turning Point USA and Klanned Karenhood bigotry. They are all really stupid questions as well.
