Did you really expect a Hummer to be economical? The #Hummer EV only gets 1.48 miles per kWh. For comparison, the #F150Lightning has a max battery size of 131 kWh gets 2.29mi/kWh. The large-pack variant of #Rivian #R1S Dual Motor, with an 135-kWh battery gets 2.27mi/kWh.Why is Hummer EV so inefficient? Mostly its weight, tipping the scales at 9,063 pounds, 3000 of which are the battery alone.

So do I change our #Rigian #R1S order to the dual motor version? Sounds like we’d save money, get more range, and we really don’t need the power of quad motor. But… we might have to wait longer and we’re finally approaching our delivery date.

I need to replace my CRV and really want an #ev that can fill it's spot carrying a family of 4 on 12 hour road trips sometimes. It seems like the only options are #Rivian #R1S and #Volvo #EX90 ...which are both approximately 3x the cost of a new CRV 😞

This isn’t a surprising move after Ford and GM did it, but I’m actually very happy to see this as a soon to be #Rivian owner. This will make our road trips so much easier and pain free. I can’t wait to get our #R1S up into the mountains in Vermont and to National Parks across the East Coast. #NACS is the future so let’s get everyone on board. #tesla #evs

@leffie we (mostly, my wife) know a family with an #R1T I may ask. Same platform, basically, as an #R1S. We're worried about it fitting in the garage too. I told my wife to ask the guy if he could pull his truck into her garage spot, and to make sure he knows that's not a euphemism. (He is pretty good looking.)

I test drove a #RIvian #R1S today on the third-world streets of Chelsea, Mass (just outside #Boston). I've had one on order since 9/21.

Bottom line: it's hard to build cars. The unit I drove had terrible fit and finish and a ride (on 21" wheels) that can only be described as tortured.

Those who think the incumbent OEMs don't "get" #EV design forget the engineering and manufacturing experience legacy OEMs have. Both a #Mustang and #BMW iX I've driven were so much better built than the R1S.

A neighbor just got their #Rivian #R1S delivered in the same color as our order. They ordered back in early 2021 but once they got their guide it only took three weeks to get the car. They love it so far. I am going to have to see if they’ll do an interview as they also have a Polestar and are all electrical now. I hope this is a good sign for ours coming soon

We also ran into our exact #Rivian #R1S configuration today. I realized we’re almost a year in to our reservation. I really hope the delivery moves up and we get it sometime soon.

We expect to take delivery of our #Rivian #R1S in ~6 months. Hopefully more stalls are converted by then, but as a soon-to-be mixed EV family, I’m way excited for this.
