Vox visits New Orleans and gets to participate in the traditional ritual of "hassling some dude who came in from the as end of nowhere to spend his Southern Decadence weekend holding up a sign and telling everyone to stop having fun". She pointed out there was a #raccoon in my yard trying to hold as still as possible. Thing was so big I didn't know who would win in a fight between it and her German Shepard! Like a small bear! There’s a tradition in my family that your grandmother makes you a quilt when you turn 13; my great aunt stepped in and made me one after my grandmother died. I was always touched by that and feel strongly that “make a quilt for his 13th birthday” is one of my duties as “honorary auntie” for my late friend’s son.
