RIP, #RachelPollack and much sympathy to her loved ones. I interviewed her once for a show on KFAI Radio and she was lovely. Pollack was a ground-breaking author of queer sf, as well as a tarot scholar and an acclaimed writer of comics. Rachel Pollack was an artist, a visionary, a seer, a Tarot master, a science fiction author, a comic book trailblazer, a wife, an aunt, a trans woman, and a friend to many.

I only met her in person once—what warmth, and grace, and wit she had—but her work affected my life, as it did the lives of many.

Her wife announced today that Rachel has crossed over.

Hail the goer! She lives on, still. Her legacy is deep.

My #TarotCardoftheDay is the Two of Swords from the Haindl #Tarot. Guide to this deck is written by #RachelPollack, and so I’ll be using it this week in her honor.

The title of this card is Peace. It’s a very quiet image, what looks to be a snow covered scene. I haven’t had the opportunity to walk through this snow this year, climate change is wreaking havoc on our weather obviously…..but I feel the memory in this card of the quiet that a recent snowfall brings. The silence.

Today is a day to pause. To be quiet. To perhaps meditate. But in effect to go inward. No rash decisions. No big moves. No major changes. Just be quiet, be still, so that I can be clear before moving forward with anything.

It's disturbing that a famous guy tooted about an important trans writer's impending death, which was followed by a bunch of people prematurely rushing to post obituaries and remembrances, and now we're all pressing refresh to see if she's died yet. She deserves better. #RachelPollack #TransWriters

Trailblazer, legend and icon -- and not in the overused RuPaul's Drag race way -- a true legend and icon. I hope this passage is peaceful, for her and for that those close to her.

It's been sad hearing about the impending loss of Rachel Pollack. I've seen people from the worlds of fiction, comics and spiritualism discussing her legacy; she put her considerable talents to use in many fields. For me, I'll remember her as the woman who gave us the first trans superheroine, Kate Godwin/Coagula.

It's not the grandest tribute, but this felt like a good time to repost some fanart of Kate that I made in my final egg days.
