Да тут местами писал под соответствующими тегами (#network, #server, #rack, etc).

Вообще в моей сети ничего такого особого нет.

Она просто значительно развесистее, чем средняя домашняя сеть.
Но пока руки не доходят сделать более правильные и интересные конфигурации.
Например, пока не сделал так чтобы утилизировались оба проводных канала пока они живы чтобы иметь возможность на всяких торрентах и многопоточных загрузках получать больше тарифной сотки мегабит.

Да и сетевик из меня тот ещё. Я теорию сетей достаточно плохо знаю.

Hätte ich als Jugendlicher bereits #vcvRack gehabt, wäre mein Leben vermutlich deutlich anders verlaufen.

Aber wir hatten doch nichts. Es wäre verwegen gewesen, sich zum Geburtstag einen #ModularSynthesizer zu wünschen, wäre auch für die Eltern nicht in Reichweite gewesen… aber hey… immerhin hatte ich Papas #Roland #Juno106 (und habe ihn heute noch). Ich pflege ihn wie andere ihr altes Oldtimer-Auto.

Damals hätte ich allerdings weniger gefragt und mehr gemacht. Und das wäre gut so gewesen. Witzig allerdings, dass junge Menschen heute vermeintlich vor allem die Bildschirme in ihren Handflächen streicheln, wo doch dank Freeware und Open Source gigantomanische kreative Möglichkeiten just around the Corner wären.

Vielleicht ist am Anfang einjeder Sehnsucht doch vor allem die Idee.

Took this server down for a short while to add 64g of ram. Damaged the active hdmi adapter that I used to connect to PiKVM in the process because I didn't account for the length the wires need to be after pulling it out of the rack.

Lesson Learnt.

Есть у кого-то на примете НЕ стоящая конских денег KVM полочка в стойку с экраном и клавиатурой?

В целом мне даже подойдёт если это просто будет полочка с экраном и клавиатурой без KVM или KVM всего на 2 девайса.

Самое дешёвое, что находится - это 56000 на Aliexpress и 74000 на Ozon.

Оно явно не стоит этих денег, а я не корпорация чтобы бросать в любой купюрами.

so... anyone here has expertise with #rack rails that could give me an opinion?

I need to know whether a sliding rack strip could be used the same way of a fixed nuts one, or if I need some tricks in order to populate them top-to-bottom (i.e., fill everything below what's installed with blank panels) as I want to keep the devices as far away from dust (and dog hair!) as possible

nothing really heavy will be installed, and the UPS will be at the bottom, so little risk of tipping.

I'm not sure if this Sysracks rack shipped without some of the hardware or if I just misplaced it in the insanity of the move, but at least I can use it as a four-post with side walls!

Is themes common? Is there a better basic rack I could've gone with?

I needed to rebuild my #SOHO #rack to install #DIN power supplies for the NUC and HDD.
Didn’t have enough wattage for the spinning disk, and the PC supply is very bulky.

It was weirdly difficult to find a 19V DIN supply, so this one is quite underpowered for the NUC, however it’s not running heavy loads or many peripherals and has had no issues testing for days.

This gives a better view of what I’ve packed in my rack. ESPHome flashed quad relay to manage power, DIN PSUs and a Pi for serial.
